Nature and socio-environmental awareness

The Museum Tower Kyobashi is a people- and eco-friendly office building with an energy-efficient design fully exploiting natural energy. It is 100% powered by renewable energy.
Carbon-free energy supplied from three solar power plants will be implemented in the spring of 2024.

Environment to be aware of the connection with nature

A skip-floor rooftop garden, inspired by the forest-scape of Musashino, occupies the 21st to 23rd floors for greening, in addition to the green walls planted on the lower levels. Together they provide an environment where workers can be aware of their connection with nature.

CASBEE

Museum Tower Kyobashi was certified as a CASBEE-Smart Wellness Office by the Institute for Built Environment and Carbon Neutral for SDGs (IBECs) and acquired an S rank which is the highest of five ratings (85.8 total points).

Natural light

The vertical louvers that cover the perimeter of the building used computational design analysis to regulate the ever-changing incoming sunlight, with wider louvers blocking sunlight on the sunny south and west sides.

Natural ventilation

The 10th through 22nd floors dedicated to tenants are equipped with windows for natural ventilation on the north and south sides, and a multi-layered double skin facade with glass curtain walls on the east and west sides. This ingenious design turns the entire building into one large natural ventilation system, contributing to a constant reduction in energy consumption for the air conditioning.

Newly developed ultra-compact outdoor air handling systems are installed on the window sills for precise mechanical ventilation. Outdoor air is drawn in from the shaded side in summer to minimize the effects of solar radiation, and from the sunny side in winter to make effective use of it.
